Consultation

White Washed Wood

A Gentle Place To Begin

Reaching out for therapy can create ambiguity, hesitancy, or perhaps self-doubt. Feeling unsure about whether to schedule is natural. For many people, especially those who have experienced trauma, grief, or narcissistic abuse, taking this step can feel vulnerable. A consultation is meant to be a low-pressure place to begin. It’s simply an opportunity to. ask questions, share your concerns, and explore whether this support feels like the right fit for you.

Feeling Apprehensive

It’s very common to feel nervous about scheduling a therapy appointment, especially if past experiences have taught you to minimize your needs and feelings or distrust yourself. That reluctance is not a sign that you’re doing something wrong; it’s frequently a reflection of all that you’ve suffered. Therapy with me is a supportive, collaborative, and trauma-informed care with careful attention to your individual needs and sense of safety. You don’t need to have the right words or a distinct plan to begin; simply a willingness to explore truth and a desire to heal. A consultation can be a gentle first step: ask questions, share as much or as little as you’d like, and determine whether it feels like a good fit. When you feel ready, you’re welcome to reach out and take that step in a way that feels right for you.

What A Consultation Is

A consultation is:

  • A brief, supportive conversation

  • A chance to ask questions and share concerns

  • An opportunity to see if working together feels like a good fit

  • A space where your boundaries are respected

A consultation is not:

  • A commitment to ongoing therapy

  • A test or evaluation

  • A place where you’re expected to disclose everything

  • Something you have to decide on immediately

What We'll Talk About:

During a consultation, we may:

  • Discuss your reason for considering counseling

  • Explore your concerns

  • Talk about my approach and how therapy works

  • Review next steps for scheduling, if you choose

There is no pressure to decide anything during this conversation.
